This relaxed and playful workshop will focus on the making of hand built tea bowls. Laurie is a
huge fan of Solscape and their peaceful approach to living. As a regular guest, Laurie has been

share his passion in a place where he feels creatively connected.
Aspiring potters will explore multiple techniques for creating their own unique tea bowls and
broaden their understanding of the value of the humble vessel and of clay as a dynamic natural
material. Broken into two easy going parts the morning session runs from 10:30am till 12:30 noon
after which there will be a one hour lunch break. Hungry potters are encouraged to refuel at
Solscape’s very own Conscious Cafe and enjoy the incredible plant based cuisine on offer. The
workshop resumes at 1:30pm and concludes at 3:30pm with everyone completing their own
original handmade tea bowls.

Join us at The Conscious Kitchen at Solscape for the film screening of ‘Blue’ and pizza night – Friday 20th April.
Blue the Film screening sponsored by Karioi Maunga ki te Moana to shine some awareness on the challenges facing our seabirds and other marine life. BLUE is a beautiful film that profiles six ‘marine guardians.’ Still only available in NZ and Australia film festivals, we are very lucky to have a chance to bring this film to our Karioi community. Please check out the website to learn more – bluethefilm.org/
BLUE is the story our generation need to hear. The industrialization that has occurred in the oceans over the last century, mirrors the events that triggered mass extinctions on land. Industrial scale fishing, habitat destruction, species loss and pollution have placed the ocean in peril. The very nature of the sea is being irretrievably altered. BLUE is a provocative journey into the ocean realm, witnessing this critical moment in time when the marine world is on a precipice.
Bring a blanket! Delicious vegan pizzas, hot drinks and desserts will be available from 5:30pm from Conscious Kitchen- Solscape, Raglan. Check out www.karioimaunga.co.nz or get in touch with email@example.com to find out more about how you can help support seabirds, contribute to microplastic surveys and get involved in Raglan!
