We want everyone to make the most of their time in Raglan so we have put together a few travelling tips. We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful little town!
Take it easy
The road out to Raglan is rather windy with few passing lanes, if you see traffic behind you, pull over safely and let others pass. But take it easy and enjoy the beautiful drive.
Stop off at Bridal Veil Falls
On your way to Raglan, why not take a slight detour and visit the stunning Bridal Veil Falls. Just about 11km off state highway 23 to Raglan, the trip is well worth the detour! The stunning 55metre waterfall will take your breath away. You can walk right down to the bottom or watch it cascade from the top. This waterfall is something to tick off the bucket list.
Bring your Togs (swim suit)
Whether it is Summer or not, you cannot come to Raglan without your Togs! Learn to surf, explore one of our waterholes, go on a kayak adventure or take a trip to Waingaro Hot pools? You can see water from almost anywhere in Raglan, it’s hard not to want to jump in!
Our small wholesome town has been loved and taken care of by the locals for many years. And with Raglan growing as a tourist destination, we expect all those visiting to respect Raglan as if it was their own home. Use the rubbish and recycling bins that are provided and for extra brownie points, pick up any rubbish you see laying around. When surfing, wait your turn and be considerate of locals.
Don’t miss the Sunset
Raglan has some of the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see! Find your perfect sunset spot, grab a blanket and maybe some dinner to go. We recommend setting up around 5pm around this time of year as the sun sets around 5:30pm. All sunsets are different so you never know what to expect, but you will more than often be blown away.
Take something home with you
Whether it is a treasure, art piece, a special memory or a new outlook on life. Raglan has got something to offer everyone. You cannot help but leave with something you will cherish forever.
